Motorola is set to add a new model to its Edge lineup, the standard Motorola Edge 50. This upcoming device will be the successor to the Motorola Edge 40, which was launched in May last year. The new device was recently listed on India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification platform, indicating its imminent launch in the country. Let’s take a closer look at what has been revealed about the Moto Edge 50.
Motorola Edge 50 Receives BIS Certification
The Motorola Edge 50 has been listed on the BIS certification platform with the model number XT2407-3. Although the listing did not disclose any specifications, its presence on the BIS website confirms that the phone will soon be launched in the Indian market.
This isn’t the first time the Motorola Edge 50 has appeared online. The handset has already been spotted on certification websites such as the TDRA (Telecommunications Regulatory Authority) of the UAE, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) of the USA, and the Eurasian Economic Community. The TDRA website confirmed the device’s name, while the FCC listing revealed some of its features.
Features Revealed by FCC Listing
Based on information available from the FCC website, the Motorola Edge 50 is expected to come with a 5,000 mAh battery and support 68W fast charging. This is a significant upgrade from the 4,400 mAh battery found in the Edge 40 model. The FCC listing also disclosed that the Motorola Edge 50 will include features such as NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and 5G connectivity.
Expected Specifications and Pricing
While detailed specifications of the Motorola Edge 50 remain limited, a recent report suggested that the device would be priced at €599 (approximately ₹54,200) in Europe. This price is expected to be for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model. Additionally, the phone is anticipated to be available in Green, Peach, and Grey color options. Given its frequent appearances on various certification platforms, it is believed that the Motorola Edge 50 will soon make its global debut. An official announcement is expected shortly.
